Joe Spoors made his television debut playing young Jim Roberts in BBC Wales' Legends of Welsh Sports: Jim Roberts with On Par Productions.

Jim Roberts, a talented and highly competitive athlete and student at Coventry University, was struck down with bacterial meningitis. He spent two and a half years in hospital where he nearly died and underwent a double leg amputation. After leaving the hospital he was introduced to wheelchair rugby as part of his recovery programme. He was then selected for the Team GB development squad and the national team before playing for Aizona's Phoenix Heat. He then returned to the UK determined to help Team GB become the best in the world.
